IMPLICATIONS OF CLIMATE CHANGE

 STEP 3

IMPLICATIONS OF CLIMATE CHANGE

Our environment is constantly changing at a higher pace than anticipated. We're suffering from the effects of human-caused global climate change, from more frequent and severe storms to catastrophic heatwaves.

Here's what's at jeopardy if we aren't doing anything about global warming :

INCREASE IN SEA LEVEL

Rising sea levels could impact 1 billion people by the year 2050

BLEACHING OF CORAL

Coral bleaching occurs when water temperatures change, prompting phytoplankton to abandon coral reefs, bleaching them white and makes them more vulnerable to mortality and morbidity.

ARCTIC WITHOUT THE ICE

Every summer, the Arctic sea ice decreases, but it still occupies millions of square kilometres of ocean today. Nevertheless, the Arctic region faster than any other portion of the globe, and glacier summer may soon be a real thing.

WAVES OF HEAT

If we do nothing, extreme heat waves  will grow more common and intense over the globe, harming hundreds of millions—if perhaps billions of people.

FLOODING

Rain, snow, and other precipitation will be much more regular and heavier—as a consequence of climate change. And as that danger escalates, so does the likelihood of floods.

HABITAT OF THE WILDLIFE

As the world proceeds to overheat, wildlife habitats for certain flora and fauna may become uninhabitable. Depending on their ability to evolve or migrate, this puts a diversity of species at danger.
