CONCLUSION

As a conclusion,we can see there are many effects of climate changes that seriously affecting our environment, health and biodiversities. If we have not take any actions to prevent the climates changes, our mother earth will be bocome sick more seriously.Furthermore, when the deforestation continuing occurs, there will be having many different consequences to our environment.Climate changes wilo also leads  to psycgological problem such as post traumatic disoder, stress, anxiety and violence among the communities. So to protect our environment ang give our next generation yo have a better place to stay, we must always know how to prevent the climate change such as stop cutting the trees, save energy,car-pooling and so on.Therefore, let us together to protect ang love our beautiful mother earth that given by God ang try to keep her healthy as long as we can.

BEST SOLUTION TO PREVENT CLIMATE CHANGE THROUGH ONLINE INTERVIEW WITH EXPERTS

 INTERVIEW

ONLINE INTERVIEW WITH EXPERTS

Our team has come to a conclusion and discussed the best alternative for this CID project based on online interviews. Numerous options have been examined, and many perspectives have been adopted, including those of the person, families, communities, and authorities. We have interviewed four people who has geological backgrounds to enhance our knowledge on climate change. Next, our earth is giving up on us due to all the damage we have caused. As a result, these solutions must be understood in order to tackle the problem and reduce climate change as soon as possible.

1st Interview :

Madam Aysshani a/p Lalchand Thadani, 23,  A data science student.

From the first interview, we should reduce energy use across the board as well. It makes no difference if you're at work or at home; the more energy you use, the more carbon dioxide you emit. Therefore, do not waste power because it requires the usage of fossil fuels. Concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere quickly lead to the growth of fossil fuel consumption, which contributes to global warming. Additionally, reduce your carbon footprint by flying less frequently.

2nd Interview :

Madam Shamitan a/p Punithan , 19 , A foundation in science student .

Referring from the second interview,it is clear that we must put a stop to all forms of deforestation. More tree cutting will simply increase the quantity of Carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Rather, encourage people to grow trees in attempt to reestablish nature's balance.

3rd Interview :

Madam Liyana Batrisyia , 26 , A practical geography teacher .

Reduce your dependency on plastic. Plastic is made from oil, and the extraction, refining, and transformation of petroleum into plastic (or even polyester for clothing) is a high-carbon process. Since plastic does not disintegrate quickly in nature, a significant amount of material is burned, leading to emissions. Plastic consumption is growing so quickly that by 2050, plastic manufacturing and disposal will account for 17% of the global carbon limit (this is the emissions count that we need to stay within according to the Paris agreement).

4th Interview :

Madam Kim Chu Hua ,  43 , A geography teacher .

Last but not least, based on our last interviewee, the oceans must be preserved. Oceans also absorb a substantial amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, which helps to stabilize our climate. Many, on the other hand, have been overfished, are being used for oil and gas development, or are threatened by deepwater extraction. In the end, protecting the waters and the animals that dwell inside them is a way of defending ourselves against climate change.

IMPORTANCE TO KNOW ABOUT CLIMATE CHANGE

 STEP 4

IMPORTANCE TO KNOW ABOUT CLIMATE CHANGE

Education is a vital element in the increasingly urgent worldwide battle against climate change. Knowledge of this phenomena aids young people in understanding and dealing with the implications of global warming; urges them to adjust their behavior, and aids in adapting to what is now a worldwide emergency.

As previously stated, climate change can indeed be natural. But unless climate changes naturally, why do we need to be concerned about the current climate change?  The early Cretaceous period noted before was warmer than today, but life survived even in locations that are now inhospitable, such as the subsurface of Antarctica.

One common misperception is that concern about climate change is caused by the Earth's absolute temperature. That is not the case at all. Scientists are more concerned about the rate of change. Living creatures, including people, may easily adapt to significant changes in climate if the changes occur progressively, over several thousands of years or more. But, adjusting to changes that occur over decades, on the other hand, is significantly more difficult.

Human involvement with the climate before, if it had been feasible, would have been far more destructive than the current meddling with our climate, according to certain measures. However, such influence would merely raise globally averaged temperatures from those of the last Glacial Period to those of current periods prior to industrialization. This thought experiment teaches us that the question isn't whether a given climate is objectively "ideal." The problem is that human society, natural habitats, and our surroundings are all extensively adapted to a certain climate – for our case, the present one. Rapid deviations from that climate change would most certainly surpass our and other living creatures' adaptation capabilities, causing considerable disturbance in our environment.

Therefore, hopefully, we've demonstrated that climate change is a topic that we should be concerned about. Perhaps that is something worth looking into. But you can't do anything about an issue you don't grasp the concept, let alone know how to address it.

RELIABLE STATISTICAL DATA & REPORTS

 RELIABLE STATISTICAL DATA & REPORTS

Climate change impact

Because the global climate is a connected system climate change impacts are felt everywhere.

Among the most important climate change impacts are:

1) Increasing Sea Levels

Climate change impacts rising sea levels. The global average sea level has risen about 8 inches (20 cm) in the last 100 years, and climate scientists predict that it will rise even faster in the next 100 years as a result of climate change impacts.

Coastal cities such as New York are already seeing an increased number of flooding events, and by 2050, many such cities may require seawalls to survive. Estimates vary, but conservatively, sea levels are expected to rise by 1 to 4 feet (30 to 100 cm), enough to flood many small Pacific island states (Vanatu), famous beach resorts (Hilton Head) and coastal cities (Bangkok, Boston).

For example, if the Greenland ice cap and/or the Antarctic ice shelf collapsed, sea levels could rise by as much as 20 ft (6 m), inundating, for example, large parts of Florida, the Gulf Coast, New Orleans, and Houston.

2) Melting Ice

Within the next 100 years, if not sooner, the world’s glaciers will have disappeared, as will the polar ice cap, and the huge Antarctic ice shelf. Greenland may be green again, and snow will have become a rare phenomenon at what are now the world’s most popular ski resorts.

3) Torrential Downpours and More Powerful Storms

While the specific conditions that produce rainfall will not change, climate change impacts the amount of water in the atmosphere and will result in more violent downpours instead of steady showers when it does rain.

Hurricanes and typhoons will increase in power, and flooding will become more common.

Anyone in the United States who has tried to buy storm and flood insurance in the past few years knows that the insurance industry is completely convinced that climate change is raising sea levels and increasing the number of major storms and floods. (To understand the insurance industry’s thinking on the subject, consider the chart below, compiled by Munich Re-Insurance.)

4) Heatwaves and Droughts

Despite downpours in some places, droughts and prolonged heatwaves will become common.

Rising temperatures are hardly surprising, although they do not mean that some parts of the world will not "enjoy" record cold temperatures and terrible winter storms. (Heating disturbs the entire global weather system and can shift cold upper air currents as well as hot, dry ones. Single snowballs and snowstorms do not refute climate change.)

Increasingly, however, hot, dry places will get hotter and drier, and places that were once temperate and had regular rainfall will become much hotter and much drier.

The string of record high temperature years and the record number of global droughts of the past decade will become the norm, not the surprise that they have seemed.

5) Pests and Diseases

Rising temperatures favour agricultural pests, diseases, and disease vectors.

Pest populations are on the rise, and illnesses once found only in limited, tropical areas are now becoming endemic in much wider zones.

In Southeast Asia, for example, where malaria has been reduced to a wet season disease in most areas, it is now endemic almost all year.

Likewise, dengue fever, once largely confined to tropical areas, has become endemic to the entire region.

Increased temperatures also increase the reproduction rates of microbes and insects, speeding up the rate at which they develop resistance to control measures and drugs (a problem already observed with malaria in Southeast Asia).

IMPLICATIONS OF CLIMATE CHANGE

 STEP 3

IMPLICATIONS OF CLIMATE CHANGE

Our environment is constantly changing at a higher pace than anticipated. We're suffering from the effects of human-caused global climate change, from more frequent and severe storms to catastrophic heatwaves.

Here's what's at jeopardy if we aren't doing anything about global warming :

INCREASE IN SEA LEVEL

Rising sea levels could impact 1 billion people by the year 2050

BLEACHING OF CORAL

Coral bleaching occurs when water temperatures change, prompting phytoplankton to abandon coral reefs, bleaching them white and makes them more vulnerable to mortality and morbidity.

ARCTIC WITHOUT THE ICE

Every summer, the Arctic sea ice decreases, but it still occupies millions of square kilometres of ocean today. Nevertheless, the Arctic region faster than any other portion of the globe, and glacier summer may soon be a real thing.

WAVES OF HEAT

If we do nothing, extreme heat waves  will grow more common and intense over the globe, harming hundreds of millions—if perhaps billions of people.

FLOODING

Rain, snow, and other precipitation will be much more regular and heavier—as a consequence of climate change. And as that danger escalates, so does the likelihood of floods.

HABITAT OF THE WILDLIFE

As the world proceeds to overheat, wildlife habitats for certain flora and fauna may become uninhabitable. Depending on their ability to evolve or migrate, this puts a diversity of species at danger.

IDENTIFY PROBLEM AND PROBLEM ANALYSIS

 STEP 2

IDENTIFY PROBLEM & PROBLEM ANALYSIS

What is climate change?

The earth climates nowadays is changing very rapidly and differently. Besides that, the climate changes in our earth are effecting our lives psychological, physically and emotionally. What is climate changes? Climate change is seasonal changes for a long period at time in the world. These climate patterns play an important role in shaping natural ecosystems, the human economies and cultures that depend on them. For example, the changes in climate can affect how people, plants and animal live, such as food production and health risks. As the earth's climate is dynamic and always changing through a natural cycle, the world is now worried about changes that occurring today have been speeding up and seriously affecting human's lives. All across the world, people are taking action to prevent climate change. For example, in 2007 , scientists from the International panel on climate change (IPCC) predicted that warming oceans and melting glaciers due to global warming and climate change could cause sea levels to rise 7-23 inches by the year of 2100. Because of this ,we must take action as soon as possible to try to solve this problem or to prevent more serious of climate changes occur. I'm interested in this topic because the climate changes in Malaysia or this world are too serious and it is interesting to discuss and try to fix the problem.

What are the cause of climate change?

There are two main causes of climate changes that that effecting our lives and environment which is natural causes and human activities. Natural causes have influenced the earth's climates such as volcanic eruptions, ocean current, the earth orbital changes and solar variations. The eruptions of the volcanoes cause a cooling effect on the earth. when a volcano erupts it throws out  large volumes Sulphur dioxide(SO2), water vapors, dust and ash into the atmosphere. the volcano eruptions will affect the climatic pattern for years although the eruptions occur in a few days . the Sulphur dioxide gas will reach the upper level of the atmosphere. the tiny particles, dust and ashes will block the incoming sun rays and this will leads to cooling the atmosphere. this is because the bouncing of sunlight to the space is cooling the atmosphere of the earth.

Furthermore, ocean current is one of the natural cause. The ocean is the major component of the climate system. The oceans cover about 71% of the earth and absorb about twice as much of the sun's radiation as the atmosphere at the land surface. Winds push horizontally against the sea surface and drive ocean current pattern. Beside that., the oceans also play an important role of the concentration of carbon dioxide . the change in ocean circulation will affect the climate through the movement of carbon dioxide into or out of the atmosphere.

Moreover, another cause that affects climate change is the earth's orbital changes. The earth makes one full orbit around the sun every year. if there is no tilt we will not experience seasons. Changes in the tilt of the earth can effect the severity of the seasons. For example, if there is more tilts means we will experience warmer summer and colder winters and if theirs less tilt means we will experiences cooler summer and milder winters.

Another main cause that lead to climate changes is human activities. From the 19th century, the Industrial Revolution saw the large-scale use of fossil fuels for industrial activities . therefore, they created many jobs for the people. So, many people moved from rural areas to cities. Many vegetation areas were cleared  to become houses or factories for industries. Natural resources are being used extensively for construction , industries, transport and consumption. All this has contributed to the rises of greenhouse gases such as methane and nitrous oxide in the atmosphere. Human is generating industries factories and houses , running the vehicles that used many fossil fuels such as coal, oil and natural gases. these use of fossils fuel will lead to climate changes. Global climate change is caused by the fertilizers that used for agricultures. the result of microbial action in the soil , these chemical will release nitrous oxide. Besides that , the emission of methane and carbon dioxide will also affect climate changes. in addition, the increasing of agriculture is also caused by the increasing of human population in the world.
